CERTI-TECH 2008 CERTI-TECH 2008
CERTI-TECH is the Thermo King Technician Certification Program. It is a computer-based testing program, managed by the Climate Control Education Center and administered by an independent testing agency.
CERTI-TECH is designed to:
- Recognize and reward technicians for what they know.
- Encourage technicians to increase their knowledge and to stay current in the industry.
- Identify the best level of training for continued professional development.
- Communicate to customers that Thermo King provides the best service through fully-trained and certified technicians.
The CERTI-TECH program includes several tests. For the Thermo King service technician, testing will be at three successive levels: Certified, Professional, and Master. Additional Specialist tests are available in the areas of Bus Air Conditioning, Diesel Engine, and Container products.
Some CERTI-TECH tests have a corresponding learning program in the Climate Control Education Center, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. By passing a CERTI-TECH test in their dealership, technicians can "test out" of these courses.
Testing Fees
Thermo King dealerships are charged a fee of $25.00 for each CERTI-TECH test. Test requests must be submitted by the dealership's CERTI-TECH Proctor using the on-line CERTI-TECH Order Form.
Technician Employment Termination
CERTI-TECH certifications are awarded jointly to the technician and his/her sponsoring dealership. These certifications and patches are the property of Thermo King Corporation and must be retained by the Thermo King dealership. When a technician's employment is terminated, for any reason, all certifications become null and void.
